The DPF light will then go out and you can resume your normal driving. DPF LIGHT FLASHING A flashing DPF light means the exhaust filter is just about full and the truck cannot go much farther. Complete a “parked regeneration” as soon as possible. DPF LIGHT FLASHING WITH BEEPING ALARM A flashing DPF light with an audible alarm means the

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2002 stands for “Diesel Particulate Filter Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1).” As mentioned, the DPF can clean itself in a process called regeneration. This makes P2002 a soft code. When this code appears, it indicates that there is a problem in real-time and it goes away once the fault corrects itself.

As long as you drive more than 15-20 minutes every once in a while, my best guess is that the DPF will have enough time being heated to regenerate. Many TDI drivers in the US who regularly take only short trips have reported no unusual malfunctions.

The DPF light came on as I was driving from Kansas City to St. Louis, so there were several hours of highway speed driving for the regen to occur. The engine light is on (not flashing) and that is due to a persistent P2015 (Intake manifold flap position sensor) fault. I haven't bought the spacer from Diesel Geeks yet to fix it.
Jetta - 97 (RIP), '03 (Sold), '09. Sep 4, 2010. #1. So after 14 months and 31,1xx miles my '09 unfortunetly broke the trouble-free cherry. My wife and I left our house today and got about 1.5-2 miles down the road and the cluster beeped and displayed "Diesel-particulate filter instructions" in the MFD, and also illuminated the DPF light (solid).
If it comes on with the brake warning light, it could indicate that the brake system is failing and you should stop straight away and call for recovery if you have breakdown cover. For roadside assistance, you can call the RAC on 0330 159 1111 even if you’re not a member. Find a garage. The DPF is a legal requirement on all diesel vehicles as it reduces the number of harmful pollutants released into the air. Over time the soot builds up in the filter. It is then burnt off automatically by a procedure called regeneration. This kicks in on diesel vehicles at about every 300-400 miles, but only on longer journeys, with speeds of
Code 4D4A triggers a one time warning about about the DPF at exactly 10 minutes after startup. The car basically starts nagging the owner about the DPF at this point and doesn't do anything else. You can clear the message and drive on. Note that the DPF doesn't necessarily need to be replaced yet as long as regenerations are still occurring

If unsuccessful, the ECU will try and repeat this process for a further 15 minutes. If the filter is still clogged, the DPF light on the driver display panel will then be lit. If the owner is lucky, simply driving at a constant speed of at least 60 km/h for about 10 minutes will solve the problem.

How long can you drive with a DPF light on? You shouldn’t drive indefinitely with the DPF warning. If you simply ignore the light and carry on driving, the ECU will eventually put the car into limp home mode .

6.4L Power Stroke Diesel - First 6.4 DPF Delete Questions - Owned my first diesel now for a couple months, and now starting to have some questions. I bought a 2008 Ford F-250 CrewCab Lariat with 50,000 miles. Since I it purchased I've put roughly 15,000 miles on the truck, along with some exterior add-on's just to The dreaded fault code that causes the 5 MPH derate! This fault is related to the “SCR Inducement” which is what regulates your truck to this derate. Cummins Fault Code – 3712 or SPN 5246 FMI 0. Notification – Red Stop Engine Light On. Information – Aftertreatment SCR Operator Inducement – Data Valid But Above Normal Operating Range I find this strange as it never had a constant DPF light which suggests you drive at 2,000 revs for 20 mins to clear it. hence so many issues with the light coming on not long after being
I got the amber warning DPF full few days ago. My car was sitting for over a year because I was doing an engine rebuild and I have covered about 400miles since it’s back to life. my impression was you just take it to relatively long trip and you are fine but 20-30mins trips at speeds below 50mph didn’t help.
