Spoiler alert- the 2.0 is far superior to the 1.5. We’ll definitely be going with that. Avoid the 1.5 like the plague. We’ve actually decided to get a used 2020 or newer Edge. The Escape wouldn’t be big enough for us and we’ll completely avoid any 1.5’s. Had a 2022 escape with the 1.5.

Posted March 21, 2022. I have a 2016 ford fiesta 1.0 ecoboost 100bhp. I bought it at 18k 3 years ago and it has been annually serviced at my local Ford dealer and is now on 37k. It seems to me that these cars are extremely reliable and popular with many 1000s sold, however there are Internet groups creating fear over cambelt failure (ecoboom).

Our favourite Ford Focus: 1.0 Ecoboost 125 Zetec . Like the Focus, the 3 is not the biggest car in this class, but offers a satisfying drive and has a good reliability record.
Best Ford Focus for low costs: 1.0 EcoBoost 100 5dr; Best Ford Focus for fuel economy: 1.5 EcoBlue 120 Active Edition 5dr; which major on reliability but tend to be priced higher than the Ford. The last one could have been modded, even tastefully, and it’s life reduced. You also know that one has been driven hard so all parts will be more worn. Relatively speaking, yeah they are reliable enough. It’s also a performance car, so 100k miles is always going to be a lot.
